Plaza Carolina is the second largest enclosed mall in Puerto Rico. At first glance it doesn’t seem so large because its footprint isn’t as spread out as other malls on the Island. But half of Plaza Carolina is underground. The architecture of the building makes it seem smaller than it actually is, but the mall has three floors, 240 stores, 7 anchor tenants and 1,500,000 sq. ft. of actual retail floor area.
The mall is located about 6 miles to the east of Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport on the intersection of Ramon Baldorioty de Castro Expressway and Road #3 (65th Infantry) in the town of (you guessed it) Carolina.
The mall is very popular among tourists visiting Puerto Rico from the smaller Caribbean islands.
