After leaving the San Agustín Bastion continue along the city wall until you reach one of the city’s only two remaining powder houses.  You will recognize the structure because it has two very tall chimneys, one at each corner of the building.

Powder houses had special air ducts that ran along the building’s walls and connected to the chimneys.  This kept the building cool and dry through a process called convection and avoided accidental explosions.
